Year 12 2023 POST-SCHOOL DESTINATIONS:
There were 48 students who completed Year 12 in 2023. The ratio numbered 25 females and 23 males. At the time of the destination survey the following information was recorded.
A total of 22 students (48%) of our Year 12 students (14 females, 8 males) were offered places at university in 2023. Combined, students were offered 105 course placements from 16 different universities in 3 states in Australia. A total of 11 students chose to study at university with 6 choosing to defer. These students have opted to take up a gap year and have undertaken full-time or part-time work to help with the costs of starting out and relocating for university.
The students’ choice of courses was as follows; Law, Genetics, Pharmaceutical Medicine and Pharmacy, Cyber Security Analysis and Security Studies, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Criminology/Psychological Science, Psychology, Journalism, Nursing, Exercise and Sports Science, Marine and Antarctic Science, Clinical Exercise Physiology, Primary Education, Secondary PDHPE Education, Arts (Education), Creative Arts (Music) and Social Work.
Students who completed their Higher School Certificate that are attending TAFE or other RTO’s (12%). This includes those students undertaking further study, traineeships, or an apprenticeship. The apprenticeships / traineeships offered were Auto Electrician. Aged Care and Light Vehicle Automotive,
Those students entering fulltime or part-time work made up 29% of the total leavers. Employment options gained locally ranged from Retail, Hospitality, Real Estate, Lifeguard, Graphic Design, Local Shire Council Parks and Gardens, Transport for NSW Administration and Education (Student Learning Support Officer), and related areas. Please note several students undertaking TAFE or equivalent courses and those in an apprenticeship or traineeship were not listed in these statistics which would take the number of students who are currently working to 41%.
Of our 3 School Based Trainees, one student, who completed a Certificate II Chain Supply Operations, has secured full time employment with his host employer. Our other 2 students who studied a Certificate II in Agriculture, one has secured full time employment in farming and the other fulltime employment in agricultural real estate.
Of our 5 Special Education students 2 students have gained employment in the following areas: retail, Farming. One student is volunteering in aeroplane restoration and 2 students did not answer the survey.
Students’ unknown was consistent with last year’s total of 11%. These students are travelling, involved in volunteer work, have left town, or did not complete the survey.

Year 12 2022 POST-SCHOOL DESTINATIONS:
There were 45 students who completed Year 12 in 2022. The ratio numbered 21 females and 24 males. At the time of the destination survey the following information was recorded.
A total of 16 students (35%) of our Year 12 students (8 females, 8 males) were offered places at university in 2022. Combined, students were offered 55 course placements from 15 different universities in 5 states in Australia. A total of 11 students chose to study at university with 3 choosing to defer. These students have opted to take up a gap year and have undertaken full-time or part-time work to help with the costs of starting out and relocating for university.
The students’ choice of courses were as follows; Law, Nuclear Physics, Medical Radiation Science (Diagnostic Radiography), Nursing, Medical and Health Sciences, Agriculture, Business, Civil Engineering, Exercise Science, Construction Management and Media and Communication.
Other students who completed their Higher School Certificate are attending TAFE (15%). This includes those students undertaking further study, traineeships, or an apprenticeship. Those completing an apprenticeship represented 13% of the cohort. The apprenticeships offered were; Electrician, Auto Electrician and Carpentry. Two students are undertaking a traineeship in childcare and two students further study in childcare and wool classing.
Three students have entered the Australian Defence Force (Infantry) – 6% of the cohort.
Those students entering fulltime or part-time work made up 28% of the total leavers. Employment options gained locally ranged from Retail, Hospitality, Real Estate, Aged Care and Education related areas. Please note several students undertaking TAFE courses and those in an apprenticeship or traineeship were not listed in these statistics which would take the number of students who are currently working to 44%.
Of our 2 School Based Trainees, one student, who completed a Certificate III Education Support, is in permanent employment as an SLSO at a local primary school, while the other, who completed a Certificate II Business is in part time employment in Hospitality.
Students unknown or undertaking other projects was consistent with last year’s total of 11%. These students are travelling, taking a Gap year, involved in volunteer work, have left town or did not complete the survey.
