Trivia Night raises money for Drought Angels

On Thursday April 11, The Parkes High SRC Committee held a trivia night to raise much need funds for our Australian farmers. All funds were donated Drought Angels, which is a large organisation that extensively supports farmers in need by supplying money, food, hampers, clothes, and emotional support.

Lou Green, a local volunteer for Drought Angels attended the trivia night, giving an insight into what her organisation does and the importance of support our famers.

Becky Wright, PHS captain organised the fundraiser with the help of the Student Representative Council. She was ecstatic with the roll up and how the night went,  “We were lucky enough to raise $1408.25 which is an awesome effort and greatly appreciated.  I was so happy to be able to hand over the donation to Lou. I know our efforts will help many farmers  especially through this drought”, said Becky.

“I would like to thank our sponsors, McPhersons Parts and Services, Ron Dunfords Chemist and the Peak Hill Newsagency who donated prizes for the trivia night and also especially thank all the SRC kids who helped run the night.”

“I would also like to thank my brother Artie Wright, who provided entertainment by singing some fabulous songs and providing us with awesome dance moves, and everyone who helped to make the event run smoothly” said Becky.

It was a tight contest but the overall winners of the trivia night were, “Almost Correct”. Congratulations to the Bland, Dunn and MacGregor families.
