Located in B9, the Learning Hub is a place where students can receive emotional or academic support. It is staffed by teachers every period.
A variety of programs run out of the Hub including Senior Study periods, Quick Smart Numeracy and Literacy, and Reconnect. This is run during sport for Years 7-11, for any students who need extra help or time to complete assessments, as well as any student who has any N warning letters. Year 12 students can attend the Learning Hub, during their study periods, Thursday A week at any time, or during other times arranged between themselves, their class teacher, and the teachers of the Hub.
Students who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, upset or angry are able to come to the Learning Hub to debrief and learn coping skills.
The Learning Hub is also open every recess and lunch for students wishing to do quiet activities, or spend time working on class related learning activities.
Every Thursday afternoon the Learning Hub is open from 3.30pm for students wanting Maths help. Ms Vere, as well as a rotating roster of other teachers, to provide academic support for any student.
As the focus is learning in the Learning Hub, any student attending the hub needs to come prepared with subject specific work to last the length of the period, a note from their current class teacher, as well as a positive mindset to engage in their learning.
